I am looking at purchasing health insurance. I am going to grad school in the fall and I am no longer a dependant. I hardly get sick, and with the exception of the summer I had not seen a doctor in 5 years. But the illness over the summer which we believe was from some bacterial infection from the farm, isn?t entirely resolved yet. I wanted to see a pulmonologist, beause I do have a little chest pains and aches. I was planing to wait after Christmas, but then I got the letter in th email that my insurance was about to run out. So now I am freaking out. Besides the infection that I have, I am overall healthy. I don?t drink, smoke, do drugs, I am not sexually active (for religious reasons) and I excercise a lot. Besides the last 6 months, I don?t have a health history. Its clean. I would take Cobra except, the monthly premium is $467 and thats my last option if I can?t get insurance to resolve my chest problem by seeing a pulmonologist. The expiration for the cobra option is in March. But i do have a little pain and I would like to see a pulmonologist soon.By the way I am 25 years by the way, no drugs, and I might have a little in my lungBut I got sick over the summer and had to go to the hospital (ER for the first time ever). My Dad?s health insurance was good. I had to pay 15$ co-pay whenever I visited the doctor, and I could see specialists like a gynecologist. They weren?t particular about the docotors I could see, so the choices were good. I had a 2000$ deductible and I think it was 90/10 for us whenever it was anything like scans, x-rays, stuff like that. The problem is I would like a plan like that but do companies sell them for individuals. I am willling to pay 150 maybe 170 a month. Is that bad. Can anyone help me out?
